Hydrostatic neutral control adjustment
I have a Montgomery Ward Powr KraftLawn Tractor (1994) 18HP/42 mower. Im trying to adjust hydrostatic neutral control. I followed manual get wheels stopped but when I go to put clutch/parking brake on it pulls shifter out of adjustment. And wheels start turning again. Also seems like you have to push on clutch pedal a little hard. The parking brake needs to be on & in neutral(blades off) so you can get off mower without stalling. THANK YOU

Toro Groundmaster 120 mowerdeck gearbox oil level
How can I check the oil in the gear box on this Toro Groundmaster 120 gear box on the mower deck.
It has a allen plug in the front and the back of it. No dip stick on it like larger mower models?
It has something on the side of it I think is some type of a release valve thing but its not for checking oil level I would think. Im thinking the allen wrench plugs might be the place and maybe fill till its level. The plugs are in the middle of each side front and back.
Anyone have any ideas???????

Briggs and stratton 375 throttle wont work
Hi, I have a Briggs and Stratton 35 sprint and 375 sprint that both have the same problem. I have replaced the air filter, spark plug and governor springs on both of them. They both start-up fine but as soon as they do they seem to be stuck wide open and nothing I do with the throttle has any impact.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clutch/brake problem
I have a Montgomery Ward Powr KraftLawn Tractor (1994) - MTD. Wanted to see if anyone knows -
How far the clutch/brake pedal should travel?
The brake might need adjustment/replacement, can I do it without taken the tire off?
The rear tire is stuck on axle. I have tried puller, PB blaster, a little heat no luck yet.
Any suggestions?

New Member
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum. I joined as i just acquired a used Honda lawn mower and a used honda snow blower. both are running a bit rough. I am a big honda fan. I could never justify the price of buying them new. But since they were given to me, I want to try and tune them up myself. I am hoping i can find some helpful hints on this forum.
Cheers

New to MTF
Hi, I'm Bob. I'm collecting & restoring old powered reel mowers and garden tractors. I've begun work on a Bolens 915 Lawn Keeper; the deck has been torn down and is being cleaned & repainted. I'm hoping to find a 701 Wheel Horse, B10 Allis-Chalmers, Bolens 20HD or 21HD, Bolens 230 or 233, and a Panzer Model A or T102.
My reel mowers include several Eclipses, a 1969 Toro, 1950 Jacobsen Lawn Queen, F&N (engine is 1949), and 1941 Sears.
I'm not addicted though I'm told that's what everyone says. I can stop buying anytime, especially on the wrong side of payday.

Got here from a search for zero turn snow blower. Found Framedoctor's Dixon snow blower. Registered so I could view the pics.

Snapper blade
I have an older (1975ish) Snapper model V211. This is an aluminum body mower that has outlasted 2 motors. It has a leaf mulcher that I use in the fall and I want to keep it running. It needs a new blade though. This is a heavy duty steel blade, not like the cheap ones you see today. The blade itself is fine but the Hi-Vac "wings" have worn badly on their outside edges. This blade is no longer available, even contacted Snapper to no avail. Has anyone else tried to get one of these blades?

That's a lot of noise
It is no longer mowing season but thinking about the spring towing my leaf vacuum. My tractor engine up front (Kubota diesel) and 6hp Honda at my back. I know I need ear plugs but I wonder if I have the option of a larger muffler on the Honda? --- Thanks

Briggs Mystery Tool????
I picked up a pickup truck load of parts for $50 that were unsold from the closing auction of a small engine shop.
In the mix I found 2 of the things I have pictured below. I think they're some kind of tool from Briggs & Stratton. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they are for and how to use them.

The knob screws in and out and the little pins you see protruding into the opening move parallel to the plane of the circular whole.

A B&S problem
Hi all, My name and handle is Sid,9 year member of DIY, and 7 or 8 years of Snowblower forum.
I own more lawn mowers than snowblowers. Just had a problem with a gas leak on a 10 HP B&S
I thought it was a leaky fuel hose, but nooo , it was a burst fuel connector to the carb, it turns out that the plastic and brass elbow on the carb split, or burst, of course, two mower shops in town don't have one. I watched a couple of you tube things on it. I checked the carb boss where the fitting was pressed into the carb, and saw there enough room to tap a 1/8" pipe thread into the spot, so I bought a 1/8" street el and a i/4" hose X 1/8" pipe fitting, pot it together with thread locker, and it worked great. Just thought I would pass it on.

We got ourselves a Ford LGT145 over the summer.
Hello everyone! For personnel reasons I had to step away from the forum but have been wanting to come back for a while. I was happy to have some help from Austen on getting my password changed so here I am! For those who don't know me, my dad and I were quite big on getting tractors and fixing them up for resale or to keep years ago. Life and issues followed, we find ourselves on a different path now. Thank God we are all here just not what we used to be heath and otherwise.
We happened on this Ford LGT145 back a couple months ago. My neighbor went to a sellers home to buy a cap for his truck. My neighbor saw this tractor sinking into the ground behind the barn, he asked about it and guy was going to junk it! My neighbor said don't I will ask my neighbors if they want it! So we got in contact and went next day to get it. The machine was his fathers and he never got it running and it sat for years at his dad's and then at his house. Was banged up from moves and showing age but the guys FEL made it easy to load. Got it home to see if is plenty heavy! The plow was only attachment. After some looking over we found a new carb and battery were needed, then found gas tank was left to perish with cap vent hole allowing water inside to corrode it. We fabbed a snow blower tank in its place. Dad had to replace front tires and get back tire back onto bead, so far the back tire held air and is good!
We got the new parts on and kept tackling the issues as we found them till it was time to try to fire it. It fired and ran quite well!! The Ebay carb is now best so idle is not very good, will stall and mixture screw little affect. The hydro works good and the high/low splitter works great as well. Hydraulic lift works and we mounted plow to try it out. We had to find a seat and only one we had is a MTD one so we used that one and it works good. The missing angle parts gave us a challenge! We wound up making a angle plate as the notches were wiped out and those pieces long gone as well. Dad welded the plate onto plow and made a heavy pin to go into angle slot to lock it in place.
That's were we stand as of now. I went to our friends mower shop yesterday for new keyswitch, air cleaner element and he actually told me he had factory taillights for it!!! SWEET! I got them and will install them soon for now to use them. Hoping to stripe it in summer and paint it up nice and install new decals!
