2006 Serial Number.

Curb Trash find, self propel cable froze, when I turn pulley the rear wheels don't turn. Belt is shot.

How do I identify the engine? Don't know if it runs or worth fixing. My neighbor told me it had been sitting for two years.

I didn't know Lawnboy used plastic front wheel section on what looks like stamped steel deck with a plastic liner.

Opinions and help wanted.
Thank You.

The Water Pressure Very weak again!

I used it a half dozen times this summer and its back to very weak power! The engine seems to run steady and alternates to higher revs. when spraying however I maxed out unload-er adjustment on my pump, and not getting the high end feel at 3000 psi should be putting out!! Seems equal to a hose pressure.
I can put my hand if front of the water just inches even on high pressure
I already took the un-loader out and cleaned what I could very slow ( spring looks goo and intact) and little movement on the funnel type nose, not sure what else to look for?
I guess i need to break down the pump and find the problem?
Could there be corrosion in the pump itself. I think the pump was not used for a couple of years before i bought it.
Any information or other suggestions?

Craftsman LT 1000 with Kohler 16HP engine

Hello,

Has anyone ever experienced an issue with periodic rough idling ( nearly wants to stall, but doesn't )?

After about 10 mins. of running, this engine acts as though it is running out of fuel...but, then will begin idling well, once again.

I've changed the spark plug & ignition coil, but to no avail. Am going to change the fuel filter in a day or two.

Could this be a carb issue or simply just a fuel filter problem? When acting up, putting more strain on the engine (engaging blades)...will only cause the problem to get more severe...wanting to spit, stutter, etc.

Any opinions out there? Thanks!

Starter/Solenoid

I have a Sears mower with 48 inch and 25 hp kohler twin engine, after mower starts the solenoid appears keep the starter from disengaging. I put on a new starter and it does the same thing. I have changed switches with no help and I am a little frazzled by it.

Hit a stump, bolt fell out, now blade/pulley area rattles loudly

I was mowing at 2.5" and nailed a hidden stump, hard enough to almost knock me off. Backed up and found the bolt in the picture in the grass. Grabbed it and when I resumed mowing there's a loud rattling below me and to my right around where the pulleys are. I jacked it up and blew off all grass/debris that's obscuring bolt locations and can NOT for the life of me find where this thing goes. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Honda Carb replacement for 2113

The part number for my carb is 1600-ZF5-V02. It is a 13hp engine GXV390. I see some aftermarket carbs on ebay that say they are for a 13hp Honda GX390 with a part number of 16100-ZF6-V01. Could I use them? They sure look like it.

INVENTEK?? Electric Power Washer 1500 PSI

A block over there is a garage sale and I spotted this Inventek 1500 Psi electric power washer 2004, made in Japan, No booklet. Just curious if anybody has heard of this brand? He is asking $20 I am thinking of offering half if its still there in a couple hours. They don't know how to properly screw on the wand nozzles. But I figured out, rather quickly. The motor sounded fine!
Any feedback appreciated on what these units might be worth? Do they put out enough Force to clean? I only have used to 2800 and 3000 psi.

Solenoid clicks, engine doesn’t turn over

I have a 2 year old Cub Cadet with a 22hp Kohler engine. Out of the blue, the mower wouldn’t start. Solenoid clicks when I turn the key, battery voltage is good however there’s only 4 or 5 volts getting to the starter. I assume this is too low to crank the engine. Any suggestions or advice? Solenoid? Wiring? The flywheel is also rusty, i took off the engine cover off and the flywheel seems to be stuck as well. I’m hoping it’s not a seized engine.
Looking for advice, thanks!

Charging system question...Craftsman LT1000

Hello,

The battery doesn't seem to be holding a charge that well. The amp gauge reads at a negative discharge ( at idle ) and smack dab at 12 o'clock at full run speed. I back probed the electrical connector and am getting 30 VAC at full run speed. However, when connecting the probes of a voltmeter to the battery and letting the engine run at full run speed...DC voltage climbs to about 12.8 volts and that's it.

Shouldn't I be receiving a voltage reading of 14 volts or a bit higher? Also, I do not see a voltage regulator anywhere on the engine. Are some mowers not equipped with a voltage regulator, or am I simply missing where it is housed?

I appreciate your thoughts...thank you!

Timecutter SW5000 brake module

This is the searing wheel model.

Anyone ever completely bypass the brake module on these things? I've gone through 3 of them in the past year and still have more mowing to be done this year!

Toro support is of no help they just want to push another module to me at $100 each. The machine works great when it decides to run but as of now it will only start. Soon as any movement is attempted (break off or PTO engagement) the engine dies and will no longer respond to the key. Have to wait till something cools down or ?? before I can attempt again.

I've had it with this interface and want to bypass the entire thing. I have no hills, kids or critters around to worry about so the interfaces are not an issue (I know enough not to run things when I can get myself or others hurt or in danger).

Anyone do this yet?

Thanks.

PS - As this machine is currently unreliable I purchased a Z-Master 3000 for my lawn, but I'd love to get this Timecutter going to cut down on total mow time (with my wife helping).

I'm recently retired and do some lawn mower repair. I own 2 Snappers, a rear engine rider (mid 80's) and a push mower (mid 70's), along with an assortment of other power equipment. I enjoy the mechanical aspect of resurrecting older equipment and giving it a new lease on life.

Trans issue after rebuild?

Hey, so I just rebuilt the 17.5hp Briggs in my MTD Yard Machine. The transmission was acting normal prior to the rebuild, but now I’m having issues. When I turn it on and put it in forward, I can drive. The issue is, when I “stop” it tries to push forward. I will coast forward (or back) without giving gas just like an automatic car would. Additionally, once I put it in gear (forward or reverse) I have to turn off the mower, put it in neutral, and restart it in order to switch gears. Is there something in the engine I put in wrong? I didn’t touch the trans at all in the process, and I really doubt it decided to go bad in the two hours it was motorless. Any help would be appreciated

I am trying to get the old mower to start. Would a missing carb bowl gasket be the cause? Thanks

Let me say thankyou for letting me join this great forum. Where to begin? Well I'm a 40something male who likes to spend more time than I should in my little work shop I made in my backyard at home. Always been fascinated with all things mechanical which is why I love opening them up and pulling them apart. Trouble is sometimes I struggle to to put them back together. That's why I think sites like this are truly fantastic.

I have a craftsman push mower with a Briggs and Stratton platinum engine. It won’t restart after I shut it off. If I spray starting fluid into the carb, it starts.
I replaced the oil, air filter, and ignition coil.
It works great except for the restart.

When is a Walbro carb not a Walbro carb?

Hi guys! Halfway into a full rebuild for a Briggs and Stratton push mower engine Model 121702-0191-01. Looking now at the carb (Walbro LMS-31M) and was thinking instead of a overhaul, maybe a brand new carburetor. Trouble is can't find a brand new one. Not having much luck matching it with another type. Walbro site not helpful and a broader search has just confused the **** out of me. Can anyone tell me what I can replace my LMS-31M carb with. (Brand new please)
