Guys,
First off thanks for the replies to my earlier thread. I've got the engine mounted and it starts. I've got some wires I'm trying to figure out though, and thought maybe I could get some help.
(Background - this is a used mower that I'm bringing back to life, some of the wires were not connected when I started the swap, and while the key start works on the unit, the engine "interrupt" handle has been disconnected and never did work... I'm not worried about hooking it back up, but I think I still have the wiring there...).
From the control side of the mower I have three wires. Red, black, and a green that has never been hooked up to anything.
From the engine I have a black in the front (from the spark plug area), and another red and black coming from the flywheel area (the red wire has a rubber boot on it). Right now they run into a quick connect, but I can change that.
To start the engine, I hooked the black from the front of the engine to the black of the controls and it started. I don't know if that's right, but it worked.
So can anyone tell me what to connect so that I'm correctly using the alternator and have everything setup the way it's supposed to be? (As I said, I'm not worried about the engine interrupt... I don't even have the handle...).
Here's a pic and a few rudimentary drawings. Thanks again guys...
