Old timer near my dad wants to sell his Cub 3165 as he's using a lawn service now. Has 301 hrs showing on the meter. I sharpened the blades up for him and changed the oil when he told me he was thinking of selling. I've only had JD belt drive tractors and this one seems very robust for an MTD built machine. I may be interested, but want to offer him a fair price. As far as I can tell, these are from the late 90's? I've also found some discouraging info that the hydro pump is a common failure and expensive. Anybody know them very well to comment? May just be the only people that post about them are the ones that had problems, or they are old enough that forums weren't popular then. It has a metal hood which is a major plus in my mind. Couple chips and rust on the foot wells, deck is scratched and has surface rust, but solid. I'd replace the battery as it looks aged. Very dusty being stored in a 1/2 workshop, 1/2 2 horse stalls pole barn.
