I need to pull a B&S flywheel on a lawnmower. I tapped the as-cast holes in the flywheel with 1/4-20 thread. Shouldn't be a problem with a short soak in PB Blaster and the proper puller. I haven't purchased the puller off eBay yet.
See attached photos. The engine is a 10T800 series. The B&S parts list calls for the common 19069 puller. The bolt hole distance on the puller is spec'd at 1 5/8". I measured the actual bolt hole distance on the flywheel at 1 1/2". That's 1/8th inch larger or 1/16" inch on each side. The puller looks like it has a fairly tight clearance holes. Buyers of the 19069 pullers on Amazon complain the their bolt holes did not match.
Will the 19069 puller work for this application? Maybe there is enough slop in the puller holes that the bolts can tilt? Why aren't the puller holes and the holes in the flywheel the same nominal size? Anyone else notice this.
