I am replacing my carburetor on my lawnboy with Tecumseh engine. When I the intake off I saw this red tube in the engine. I am new to motor repair and don't really have a clue about whether this is supposed to be there or not. The reason I am concerned about is that the red tube that is supposed to be coming out of carb towards air filter is not there anymore. Could this red tube make it's way through the carb? The pic is looking into the engine where the intake was removed. Please let me know if I should leave this in or remove it. My brother in law says its a breather tube but I haven't been able to find anything online to support that.
