My sons boss said he had 3 push mowers to give me so I picked them up Monday. I decided to spend part of the rainy day here checking out the Toro. The starter rope was pulled out all the way and would not retract so I took the shroud off, soaked everything down with PB Blaster and after working with it a while it seems to be OK. I took the jet out of the bottom of the carb and it looked like a tar ball. I removed the carb and I believe it must have been parked with a full tank of gas a few years ago. I took the plug out and sprayed some PB in the cylinder and spun the flywheel a few times, it spins free. If I can get the engine squared away I am pretty sure the drive gearbox has problems. There is no belt but when I was pushing it to the truck something was grinding a lot. Turns out one of them was not a mower.
