What A Difference A Year Makes

Everyone is familiar with my 1949 Eddleman and how it was constructed. Well you can't say the Eddleman brothers didn't like change. Picked up this 1950 model and you can see the difference. Still has the steel deck but now with tube handlebars. The drive unit is basically the same but a different type of activation. To me not as good because you are moving the right side and the left must follow. Also when you engage the drive, more force is put against the right tire making it want to turn towards left. Don't think this setup lasted too much longer before they went to the axle moving into the crawlers. Different engine and location. Had to add spacers to raise engine up on frame. Also had to add a third belt and jackshaft to run blade. No red paint on handlebars yet, when sandblasting found original green paint. Still a nice piece of Eddleman history.
