My mower (P216012) is the standard snapper walk behind mower. I got my first one in 1986, second one in 2000.
My current 2000 model is on it's second set of wheels (I upgraded to the steel commercial ones with bearings) and it's second Briggs motor (6.5hp).
I use the mulch, side discharge, and rear bag throughout the year and use the thatcherizer attachment in the spring for 3 cuttings.
I consider the blade to be dull if it does not cut through a rag easily (I keep it like a pocket knife blade).
I have adjusted the governor on the motor so that it runs at a higher rpm than it shoul which is a little risky but necessary for it to power through my healthy zoysia lawn in the mid to late summer.
I know opinions and preferences are strong for everyone but I am firmly in the snapper walk behind mower camp. This deck is my absolute favorite for its overall performance with grass cutting and also the snapper self propel system. I love this mower and don't think I will ever find anything better.
Anyone else agree? Why does snapper get a poor review? What's your preference?
