Hello,
I have a 2002 Bobcat Textron with a 60" deck and trying to save some money by REBUILDING the deck spindles. I have a 20 ton press but the cast nut on the bottom of the spindle is confusing me. I am assuming the nut is used to hold the shaft when changing the blades if a person doesn't have a impact wrench. However I've attempted to pressed the shaft out from the pulley side of the shaft, nut (blade side) down, using the spindle flange for support. But when I met resistance stopped before I did damage. I've attached a picture of the spindles in question. Any help would be greatly appreciated - I am down till I get this figured out and the weeds are staring to grow here in central Florida.
