I'm thinking of changing my screen name to Rusty Reels!:p Seems I cant resist these things when I see them at estate sales. Especially when they're something I never knew existed until I see them.
I know Sunbeam is known for mixers and other kitchen appliances, and there's almost a cult following of those little twin blade electric mowers out there. I've even seen pictures of an electric reel mower carrying their name, but I'd never seen a push reel with the Sunbeam name on it until yesterday, and of course, being the sucker I am for odd and different things, I had to have it.
It was probably all pretty and shinny at one time, but looks like it sat out behind the garage for a few decades. The paint is nearly all gone, the handles were once chromed, the rollers are all rotted and it looks like I'd better get another can of Liquid Wrench or two to loosen things up, but darn if the reel doesn't still spin.
I'll clean it up a bit and hang it on the wall with my other reels someday but at least I don't have to add Stabil!
