Hello all,
I've finally got the carburetor issues sorted out on my 1995 20465 Super Recycler and it now runs exceptionally well for a 21yr old mower. Now with that fixed, I'm currently hunting down the last remaining issue on this mower. The problem is that blade won't stay engaged. The blade is engaged via a cable connected to the brake clutch and a lever on the mower handle. The lever engages the blade by pushing down on the lever (cocking) and then raising the lever to the middle position. The blade engages when I do this, but then the cable snaps back and disengages the blade, just as I get the lever into the middle position. Inside the handle I can see the control hook release the BBC lever when the cable snaps back. Once the cable has snapped back I have to use a small pry bar or screw driver to reset the BBC cable lever into the control hook inside the control bar.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? I cant tell if something inside the handle mechanism is broken or if the cable isn't adjusted correctly/strected. Hopefully someone can shed some light here because I can't seem to figure it out!
Thanks for reading!
