I recently picked up a non-working 2006 Lawn Boy model 10686 for $10. I figured it was worth the risk. First thing I did was take a compression test of the Tecumseh 6TPXS.1951BC engine and got 55 PSI. While that seems low, I'm thinking it's not horribly low if these engine have a de-compression valve for easier starting. Anyone know if it does?
It seems more likely that the problem is with the carb, but just trying to see if I may have a bigger issue with low compression.
