Went out to start the old sled today and it puffed out white smoke, with choke and then continued to smoke with choke off.... Cleared up after about 5 secs. Backed it out of the garage, shut it down. :shifting: Decided to fire it back up and see if it was still smoking... It didn't want to start unless I gave it choke again. (most likely since it was cold still) Anywho after that it started up again and no smoke.
I have to go back about a month ago and it did this same scenario then. I didn't think much of it since the smoke wasn't as bed. I'm just scratching my head and jumping to conclusions.
Me thinks this could be a ring related issue. ??? The oil is seeping by and causing the oil to reach the cylinder??? Or maybe it's carb related??? Or maybe when I changed the air filter I might've soaked the pre-filter a little too much. Although it's been about 2 months since I put the new air filter in. I did an oil change on it when I first got it sometime in beginning of May. I decided to drain and refill again this time replacing the oil filter. It was pretty dirty before and I just ran some cheapo O'Reilly house brand 10W-30 through it the first time. This go around I bought the Kohler oil and filter as Tractor Supply.
Give me some reasons it would smoke like this please... I will say the tractor sits for a week at a time or like just yesterday I ran it to the corner store (very close) and refilled the tank rather than loading it up. So for it to do that today... It's not like it's been sitting up.
