Howdy,
I have an old RedMax BT2200LDC string trimmer and today I noticed that the spark plug wire is split (I think it bit me once or twice). According to the parts list, I need to replace the entire coil assembly (part number 5850-71200). A quick search revealed that a new coil will be around 70 bucks, more than I am willing to spend on the trimmer.
It is running fine so I don't really want to do an exploratory teardown for fear of worsening the wire's condition. Does anyone know how the wire is attached to the coil? Is it done in a way that I can work around and replace just the wire?
Thanks for any insight that you might share.
