So I'm going to do my best to describe what is a total mystery of a problem I am having and I hope someone has some kind of an explanation...... I have an MTD belt driven riding mower with a 14hp briggs and straton. The motor starts up easy and the engine runs well. Then i put it in gear and it continues to run without a hiccup in any gear and at all rpm ranges. Then I push the clutch and engage the PTO the blades start spinning and it goes flawlessly. Then when I let go of the clutch with the PTO engaged the engine runs like total garbage, starts shaking and sputtering and trying to die. It does this in every gear (including neutral). I would think the PTO is bogging down the motor but if the clutch is in with the PTO running then the motor runs perfect, however with the mower in neutral, PTO engaged and the clutch let out it sputters and runs horribly..... any ideas please, I am lost
