Hello! In the past my old JD 68 RER stopped moving - I determined that the groove pin had failed and the axle was separating.
Well, a week ago I was mowing and about to turn a corner and it stopped moving again. I verified that the groove pin was still there!
Engine runs fine. Blades spin. There may be the slightest change in idle speed/noise when the shifter is put into a gear. But no gear affects motivation. I spied that the clutch does disengage and reengage the main belt.
Where should I look first?
If you are experienced with this machine and its transmission - or similar (presumably Peerless, definitely direct linkage), Please advise! I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but haven't done a lot of mower work.
Thanks for any help!
