Used Weedeater 4.5hp 20" push mower

This one was at a garage sale, old but in good shape. I needed a smaller one for my yard and small jobs, since the toro died. It's the familiar dark green Weedeater brand with a 4.5hp Briggs and Stratton engine, side discharge, metal gas tank, metal air filter housing that has the foam filter. The previous owner found that the filter could be replaced by using scissors on a piece of a foam packing pad, and I have to admit that it works fine. ;-)
It cranked on the first pull so I was happy to buy it. Took it home, changed the oil, found that homemade filter, sharpened the blade, cleaned the spark plug, oiled the wheels, all set. It is light and easy to push, reminds me of the ones I've had 30 years ago.
It buzzed through the St Augustine grass and other stuff in my yard easily. There's so many things to go around in my yard that I would have worn myself out if I'd used the big Husky mower. This little one is just right.
It has one quirk, after a while it quits running like it is out of gas but it's not. I pump the primer button once, wiggle the choke lever and it cranks and runs just fine. Nothing to worry about, I guess.
Yessir, the old no-frills mowers will still do the job.
