snapper RER deck swapping options

I cant get any real answer to this so im coming here.

I know the 3 types of rear engine riders, 25", 28", &33", all have different hp engine and deck sizes but looking at the parts manual they seam to all use the same parts for everything else.

with that said I have the 25" deck and while its in great shape still im wondering if I can install the 28" on my 25 or is something different (other then the engines) that would prevent this?

compared to other mowers the decks on these are cheap at $150-$200 when for example the deck on my toro 42" costs $475, so if all I need to do is buy a bigger deck and matching blade, can I swap spindles and belt pulleys and that's all there is to it?

the crank pulley and belt sizes for the 25 & 28 use the same belt and crank pulley and the engines vary from 8hp all the way up to 17.5 hp and no designation that any of them are required for any mower so its buyers choice apparently even though I see the 28" come with 12.5 hp engines. the 8hp engine I have, runs well ,but has a few years on it so buying another engine isn't all that big a deal for me since the mower is literally till looks and works like brand new even though its an 01. when I replace the engine I had planned to upgrade to the 12.5hp engine anyway or the 15hp if I find a dirt cheap used 28" deck to put on it.

I realize its a lot to go through for just 3" cut difference but if I come across a deal I cant pass up on a used 28" deck or even a parts mower, I want to know if I can or cant use the deck from it on mine or not
