Hi from Oregon

I have a 1.25 acre plus, more acres (foothills of the Cascades West Central Oregon) if I help my neighbor with sections that are hard to get at with a tractor. Was using an old Ariens I acquired cheap. It blew. Was going to repair or find something decent, and just finally said screw all of the haggling and people trying to get more then the junk is worth when I search the ads. I found a couple John Deere models at Lowes, and I want to go back during the Memorial day sales and see if I can get maybe a decent one that sells for $2,000, on sale. Maybe a D140?, etc...

I thought about an electric PTO/Clutch for the blades, but probably will go manual, less to go wrong. Don't need a bagger. I do have a leaf bagger for the fall season. The grass here grows fast and tall. We get 63" rain per year, and sometimes a couple feet of snow in winter. So, it will sit for 6 months per year, but be used a whole lot the other 6 months per year. I don't need a mulcher. Tons of mulch are everywhere...

I need a comfortable seat, and not be beat to death with hard steering and horrible vibrations. My health is horrible. So, the easier the better.

I weighed a lot of brands, and so far a JD looks good for my needs.

Anyways, reading lots of posts to see what people are using...
:welcome:
