Hello all, been reading through the forum a lot the last few days. Seems very informative and helpful.
I own ~1/2-3/4 acre lot but may be moving again after a few years (to somewhere with more land) and am looking to buy something that will last. My budget is basically unlimited but I don't particularly want to buy new. I'd like to learn how to work on the mower as needed.
I know it's probably too much to ask, but tomorrow I'm going to look at a Kubota T2380 (42 in., 23 HP Kohler) with an asking price of $1600. I spoke with the owner over the phone today, he says he is retired, the second owner, and that there is not a meter but that there is probably ~170 hours on the tractor. Being the third owner scares me a little. He also said it was either an '09 or '11 and that the couple before wasn't sure when they had bought it. Hopefully I'll be able to determine the year after looking tomorrow.
If everything checks out, does this seem close to a good price? I've searched around and it seems to be. I'm also eyeing a Simplicity Regent (2009 or 2010, 17 HP Honda, unknown hours, and I'd again be the third owner) but it is a little farther drive and I will likely check out the Kubota first.
