I am looking to purchase a new lawn mower sometime in the near future. Currently I have a Craftsman push lawn mower that is about 15 years old. No real problems with it.
Looking at a lot of reviews on Craftsman lawn mowers has me considering moving to another manufacture. My research keeps bringing me back to Honda.
A little background on my lawn cutting and thoughts on a lawn mower:
- spring I cut my lawn every 5th or 6th day.
- lawn size is about 5,000 square feet, mostly flat land.
-I service my lawn mowers each year.
Okay so here are my questions:
Honda hrr216 push or self propelled? I will be 61 in several months. Will I want to be pushing a lawn mower in another 3 or 4 years from now? Not looking for a heavy lawn mower
What size engine will I need 160 versus 189 (HRX)? Most of my past lawn mowers were rated at 7.5 horse power or 190 CC.
How well does the transmissions hold in the HRR models under normal residential usage?
I would appreciate your thoughts/opinions. It seems like Honda is an excellent choice, but I am still open to suggestions in other manufactures. I am looking for something that will last.
