Hello all and Happy New Year from Central Florida.
When I bought my home I was rather surprised to find out it included a Snapper rear engine rider. I soon learned that it hadn't had the best of care taken of it.
After changing the air filter, spark plug, gas and oil I was able to revive it but it still has some issues that need attention.
It's a 33 inch cut with a 12 horse Briggs flat head engine. I don't know if it has been run hot or what happened but occasionaly one of the valve seats will pop out causing the engine to come to a complete stop.
I have replaced the seat and pinged the surface around the seat and now it seems to run okay but it does burn some oil.
I think I would like to replace it with an engine with a little more horsepower.I guess the first thing I need is a repair manual.
Does anyone know where such a manual can be had?
Thanks,
Gary
