1978 JD 316 Project

Hi: Doing a restoration on a nice JD 316 (Kohler). I'm have trouble finding the muffler shroud side foam pad (PN M80661). These are no longer available from JD. I could cut my own if I can locate a suitable alternative material. Any ideas?
