My neighbor's mower would not start and I volunteered to assist. He has a Troy-Bilt 12AE189D011 walk behind (electric start). The motor is a Briggs 650 Series @ 190 CC. The machine will start right up but dies within a few seconds. I thought possibly bad fuel but that proved to be OK. After removing filter housing I find I can keep the engine running but repeatedly blocking/opening carb air intake with my thumb. I removed the carb and all appears OK. The float is free and it does shut fuel off when full. The lone fuel injecting tube (venturi) is clear. After putting all back together, the problem persists. Would anyone have any ideas...please.
