I found a nice looking Murray for sale with reserve. Was started at $1.00, called dad over to look. We bid up to $100 and reserve was removed. No one ever bid against us and we won. Went to get it this morning. Poor thing been messed with, brake safety was gone and wire jumped. Guess PO passed away and friend was selling it. Was told of some unknown electrical issue, guy took key switch out and replaced solenoid. Had some new parts, including key switch and solenoid. Engine seemed tight and everything seemed there. Gave him the $100 and loaded it up. The machine has a form of CVT like MTD unit, never saw this before.
Got it home and monkeyed some. Found the key switch was bad and installed a brake safety. Found a missing ground wire for the two post solenoid in a one post machine was reason for no crank!!! Poor guy chased a gremlin of his own making! After fixing this, it fired right up after we cleaned and replaced fuel line and tank!! I tried it out and drive works, but deck is loud! Thank God a good looking machine!

This is the worst fuel filter I ever saw, only trickled through. I got rid of it before trying to fire it, replaced whole line.
