Can someone explain to me what the thinking is behind the "big" rear wheel on some push lawn mowers? It seems it's only found on FWD self-propelled models - is that correct?
Reason I ask is that I recently pieced together a lawn mower using a 22" Craftsman FWD chassis using an old B&S 3.5HP. I removed all the front-drive stuff, so it's just a push-mower.
I realize I'm spoiled by my old Aluminum-deck Jacobsen, but this Craftsman 22 is like driving a Mack truck. I've got a couple options on some junked 21's (with equal-sized wheels) I could move the engine over to. Just trying to get an idea if that would be a worthwhile effort.
Thoughts?
