Here's the story. A friend of mine is moving away and gave me his old LT155 mower. Doesn't run.
There are a couple of problems I think.
His original problem is that the mower deck engage safety wasn't staying depressed. He wasn't a mechanic and fiddled with it and could get it running if he clamped the safety on, but he didn't drive it. Two weeks later he tried it again and it wouldn't do anything. He also replaced the battery. Still nothing.
I looked at it and the spring that holds the deck engage lever tight isn't attached. I think that's that problem solved. But I'm not sure why it won't do anything.
The lights come on. Doesn't turn over.
I've done a little bit of auto work, but never worked on a riding mower. Looking for a plan of attack. What to check and what order to check them in I guess. Thanks a lot.
