Hi
I have a 2004 model 10654 (I know it's not a "real" lawn boy, it uses the same deck as a toro) with a honda gcv160, and it sometimes just likes to shut down when hot. Since acquiring it, I've added a FWD gearbox from a Toro, carb plate from another honda (to give it adjustable throttle), and an MTD throttle control.
It's been running really lean lately, which obviously makes it run hotter but I can't figure out why it cuts out on me randomly.
Oh and one more question; the gearbox whines like crazy and drags pretty noticeably when pulling backwards. Is this normal or should I grease it up?
I love this mower and any assistance on fixing it up would be greatly appreciated.
Tim
