I am a pretty handy guy, but have been known to be a bit lazy from time to time. Needless to say I didn't check/change or add oil to my 31F707 briggs for about 10 years or so and the other day unsurprisingly it went poof...The biggest tragedy of it all is that I fully knew better....
I ripped it apart last night and found the rod popped and tore up the lower end. The cylinder is in surprisingly good condition. I pulled the piston out by the rod stub with my hand and the main case, cam, piston and oil slinger look ok, but every other part is destroyed. Is this the kind of thing that I could find a donor for parts to repair, or should I not waste my time and find a replacement?
