Got this one a couple days ago. Eclipse Lark series 1004 with Briggs & Stratton WI.
The WI engine checks out to be 1949, about 5 years older than the mower. Does
anyone know if the Larks ever came equipped with WI? I would have thought they
would just have the common 5S. I like this engine either way. Just needed new
points, carb cleaned and adjusted, and oil change (only a couple ounces came out).
The mower itself only needed a good cleaning, oiling, and the blade adjusted. Also
got creative with the rollers, cutting the end off one that had a rotten spot, and then
adding a good roller that i had lying around. The engine runs great and the mower
cuts beautifully, rusty blade and all.
