I wanted to start a thread for movies or TV show episodes that feature lawn mowers so here goes. The specific movie that spurred this thread is a 1997 made-for-TV movie with Brooke Shields called 'The Almost Perfect Bank Robbery.'
This movie features Rip Torn as a veteran FBI agent whose hobby is collecting and restoring vintage lawn equipment (he has a shop/showroom building in his back yard with perfectly-restored vintage equipment up on pedestals with spotlights shining on them - it's awesome). There is some funny dialogue on this and I seem to recall he incurred a hand injury related to his hobby in the story as well.
I've watched this movie on weekend TV a couple of times and it's actually a pretty good film overall, but the brief mower scenes are must-see TV for any serious mower collector.
What else? Of course, Tom Hanks riding the RER Snapper in Forrest Gump, and then there is Richard Farnsworth in The Straight Story riding across two Midwestern states, initially on a John Deere 110 lawn tractor.
Please add to the list if you can think of any others.
