Lawn Boy 10591 wiring

I picked this up a couple of days ago from a kid who had no clue how to maintain it. just ran it til it quit. I had to replace the rope, repair the spring on the starter plus tap new holes for it so it would bolt down properly. Cleaned the carburetor as it was filthy, inside and out, he was using a kitchen sponge for a filter and it did not even cover the hole into the carb. New plug, fresh gas and oil and it fired up after several pulls. Now, it still has some problems and I cannot seem to find the answer to them. First, I am not sure the wiring is right. When I pull back on the blade bail, the engine dies. Also, the blade brake does not seem to be working as the blade starts spinning soon as it fires up. Is there some adjustment for it? It looks intact, but I guess the guts could be bad. That is not a real problem as I sure grew up using mowers that did not have them, just have to be careful. It has the rear bagger and there is supposed to be a switch that will not let it crank if the bagger is not installed but not sure if it works since it always cranks with or without the bagger. It mows great but would gradually like to make it work like it is supposed. Thanks for any help.
Michael
