I live about 70 miles west of DC just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains which are the eastern side of the Shenandoah Valley, to the west of the Valley is West Virginia. I bought here in 1968 when my son was a year old because I wanted him to experience farm life like I had when I was young. My Grandmother's farm was a thousand miles to the west in Iowa, too far away for easy trips.
My mothers oldest brother stayed on the farm when my Grandfather died and supported my Grandmother until she died. When my uncle died there was no one to take over the farm, so my aunts and uncle sold the farm. I was able to buy the first tractor used on the farm, a 1948 Ford 8N - bought new. My username is my first name followed by the tractors serial number. I now have it here and have had the engine overhauled and every thing repainted. My son has driven it some before he left here to go to college.
I have a number of other tractors, all old and use several - rest are "project" tractors. I just recently bought a Troy riding mower with a 46" deck to mow about two acres.
